Hemp is one of the most versatile crops \’\’and has been for hundreds of years. The hemp plant can be linked to as many as 25,000 products.  CBD has the credit for launching the hemp plant into orbit, but it goes much further than CBD oil.  Hemp can be spun into the clothes on our backs, it is built into the walls of our homes, hemp biofuel can power our cars so it has been pretty much a staple of human civilization for many years.

The two major parts of hemp are — hemp flower \’\’and industrial hemp. Hemp flower is where the CBD oil or hemp extract is extracted from. The flower is home to trichomes, the resinous gl\’\’ands of the plant, \’\’and used for direct consumption through extraction process.

Industrial hemp is about the stalks, seeds, \’\’and fibers of the hemp plant. These are used in the creation of a wide range of products other than being health driven.

CBD Hemp Flower Calls out Myths – Myth #2 — Hemp \’\’and Marijuana are the Same

Hemp \’\’and marijuana come from the same genus – Cannabis but the similarities basically stop there. Some say that marijuana is for recreation \’\’and hemp is for health benefits but that is not true either. Many smoke or vape hemp flower just because they enjoy smoking \’\’and the health benefits are a side benefit.

Hemp \’\’and marijuana are different in function, how they are grown \’\’and the chemical composition. Marijuana has up to 20% THC which is the intoxicating compound, \’\’and it is used for medicinal purposes as well but also comes along the “high”. Hemp contains 0.3% or less of THC \’\’and up to 20% or higher of CBD. It also has a much wider use than marijuana. Hemp is used in dietary supplements, skin products, its fiber is turned into building materials, clothing, paper, \’\’and other products.

Another mistake many make is calling hemp, hemp \’\’and marijuana cannabis. That is confusing because hemp is also cannabis but it is non-psychoactive.

CBD Hemp Flower Calls out Myths – Myth #3 CBD is Always Sedating

This is not true. More than anything, CBD goes to work immediately to correct the imbalances in our body. The imbalance may be anxiety, or it may be lack of energy. It may be pain or depression.

Some say that if you take only a moderate dose of CBD it can be slightly energizing but beware because if you take a high dose, it may be sedating.  This is misleading because CBD is not extracted from a particular hemp flower that is sativa or indica so it cannot be given a particular category of sedative of energizing.

I describe it this way. “It levels me off.” So I’m not depressed but neither am I jittery. I feel it helps me sleep more soundly so I wake up more energized \’\’and ready for the day.

“Myths” Last

It is important to underst\’\’and these myths because if they continue, people will believe falsehoods \’\’and never have the opportunity to enjoy all the health benefits from hemp extract. Hemp \’\’and marijuana are both cannabis. It is a misnomer to say that the two options are hemp \’\’and cannabis. That makes it sound like all cannabis is psychoactive, which is untrue.
