While CBD interacts mainly with the CB2 receptors, but CBG has the ability to interacts with both the CB1 receptors in the brain \’\’and the immune system as well as the CB2 receptors. Most hemp only contains very small percentages of CBG, whereas on the other h\’\’and there are hemp strains containing 20% \’\’and up of CBD.  The CBG content is barely 1% in most flowers until recently when researchers discovered ways to better express CBG in certain hemp flower strains.

CBD or CBG of Hemp Flower – The Other Disciple, CBG

CBG st\’\’ands for cannabigerol, one of more than 120 cannabinoids but only discovered in 1964.  Cannabigerolic acid (CBGA) is the chemical precursor to all of the other more well-known cannabinoids like CBD \’\’and THC, etc. Even so it is already showing promise of therapeutic promise with analgesic properties to surpass those of THC \’\’and without the psychoactive high. Some clinical studies are suggesting that CBG may offer anti-bacterial qualities, anti-depressant \’\’and anti-cancer benefits.

CBG interacts both CB1 \’\’and CB2 receptors \’\’and even though the research is scant so far, preliminary studies show that it may stimulate the particular receptors which are in the pathways where pain sensors travel so it has an influence over inflammation \’\’and heat sensitivity as well.

CBD or CBG of Hemp Flower – The Differences

Those in the hemp community are well aware of the mounting benefits of CBD so we need say no more in regards to that here. But here are three advantages that CBG has over CBD:

  • Molecular structure,
  • Pharmacology,
  • Appetite stimulation,
  • MRSA bacterial infections.

Part of this is more technical than informational but it simply provides a little backbone to the discussion.

CBD or CBG of Hemp Flower – The CBD \’\’and CBG Flowers

Crawford CBG — Crawford CBG has over 14.6% CBG. There is a substantial medical appeal \’\’and the consumer dem\’\’and is growing as more \’\’and more benefit are making a splash. CBG is notoriously expensive to produce so is dubbed “The Rolls Royce of cannabinoids. There is only a small percentage of CBG in the hemp plant compared to the amount of CBD content. It is for sale @ $20.99 to $67.99.

Hawaiian Haze CBD Hemp Flower — Often grown in Oregon, the hemp flower strain Hawaiian Haze is a sativa dominant strain with a range of 15% to 21% CBD content \’\’and still within the legal limit of 0.3% THC.  Hawaiian Haze smoke experience is not a cough-inducing which is important for those who have respiratory sensitives.

CBG-infused Special Sauce — Special Sauce is an Indica hybrid.  Smokable Special Sauce hemp flower contains at least 18 unique terpenes including myrcene, caryophyllene \’\’and pinene. CBD is on the average between 14% – 19% \’\’and CBG at 0.61%.  Awesome for night-time as a sleep aid, efficient for reducing pain, or providing an enchanting blanket of calm for the day, CBG is a shining star just rising in the cannabis world.

Bubba Kush CBD Hemp Flower can have as much as 15% CBD content while still falling under 0.3% THC. The other reason it is a high industrial strain is because it has an impressive terpene profile:

  • limonene,
  • farsenene,
  • linalool,
  • myrcene,
  • b-caryophyllene.

High industrial hemp strains are more than just about CBD content. The profile of terpenes has an impact on savors, but they also have a significant relationship to health benefits.

Sharon has been writing her heart out since she was 10 years of age when she wrote up a story about a 3,000 acre forest fire she and her family witnessed. In 1995 when she found herself divorced with a 3-year-old daughter, Ruth, she decided to try writing for money. She carved a niche in the Continuing Education market and for the next 20 plus years she wrote courses for C.E. providers all over the United States. Blogging is now her new love. Particularly suited to writing about CBD because for two years she was crippled with osteoarthritis in her ankles and feet until someone introduced her to CBD. Today she walks and bikes because of this natural compound of CBD.
