Hemp hearts, from the cannabis sativa L plant, are the soft inner part of hemp seeds when the hull off.  The hemp hearts are also referred to as shelled hemp seed \’\’and hemp nut. They have the color of cream \’\’and green seeds. As the rest of the hemp plant, the hemp hearts also have 0.3% THC or less. Ingredients:

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • ¼ cup of the decarbed hemp flower
  • ¾ tsp salt
  • 1 T baking powder
  • ½ cup maple syrup
  • ½ cup coconut oil, melted
  • 1 egg
  • ¾ cup coconut milk, unsweetened
  • ½ cup hemp hearts

Directions:

In a large bowl, whisk the coconut oil, maple syrup, sugar \’\’and eggs together well.  Add the dry ingredients to the wet mix.  Remember to add the hemp hearts last. Slowly stir until the batter is smooth.

Place a scoop of batter into paper muffin cups in a muffin tin \’\’and place in a pre-heated 375 degree oven for 20-25 minutes.
