The Best Guide to Cooking with CBD Hemp Flower

Cooking with CBD hemp flower is a popular way of not only enjoy something tasty \’\’and healthy but also of having a fun way to dose. If you measure carefully the mg of CBD that you put in your edibles then you will have a perfect way to calculate the dose you are having. Remember though, when you are “eating” your CBD dosage, it does have to go through your digestive system which does two things. It slows down the impact of the CBD on you \’\’and number 2 the potency is diminished.  So be sure \’\’and use a hemp flower that has as high as possible of CBD content.

Cooking with CBD Hemp Flower — Following Your Guide

The proper ingredients are the first thing on your list before starting to cook or bake. There are some ingredients that you can do ahead of time \’\’and have stocked in your pantry. If you like using olive oil infused with CBD then you can make it ahead \’\’and have ready when the cook mode hits you some Saturday afternoon.

If you use hemp flower to infuse cookies, muffin, pancakes, etc, then you can decarboxylate hemp flower in bulk \’\’and store it in your pantry. That is one process that takes time so since it lasts for awhile this will help to speed up your baking day. Read this post to find out more about shelf life.

Cooking with CBD Hemp Flower — Considering the Right Flower

For many recipes you need the CBD flower. If you are making edibles for an upcoming Friday evening poolside party \’\’and want something relaxing, calming \’\’and socially open, then you will want one of these CBD flowers – Abacus or CB Dawg.  If you want to make edibles for a special treat to have at your desk Monday morning so you’ll be alert, focused \’\’and productivity then try – Cherry Blossom or Elektra.

You will want to keep these flowers as a staple in your Cannabis Kitchen pantry. You can store them in a sealed glass container.

Cooking with CBD Hemp Flower — Doing it the Right Way

Probably many of you have a habit of altering a recipe a bit to add something you particularly like or leave something out that you do not care for. However, when you are cooking with CBD hemp flower it is important to do certain things exact.

The Decarboxylation Process

One recipe that should be at the front of your recipe book when cooking with CBD hemp flower \’\’and that is the one for the decarboxylate process. This is a must. You cannot simply crumble the CBD flower nug into your recipe \’\’and expect results. The cannabinoid CBDA is in the flower nug but it will not interact with your Endocannabinoid System unless it converts to CBD. For it to convert, you must decarboxylate the crumbled CBD flower nug.

  • Oven temperature — 230-260 degrees F.
  • Break hemp flower into small pieces.
  • Spread on parchment covered baking tray.
  • Place in the tray on the middle shelf in oven.
  • Bake for 2 hours.
  • Remove \’\’and cool. It is now sufficiently decarbed!
  • Put in a grinder of your choice \’\’and grind to the consistency of ground oregano.
  • Store in air-tight jar. Will be good for 2 to 3 months.
