Why Growing Hemp Organically is Best – Soap as a Pesticide
When bugs \’\’and insects start causing havoc on your hemp farm bring out the soap \’\’and a spray bottle. Mix 1 teaspoon of any natural dish or castile soap with a quart of water in a spray bottle \’\’and you’ve got a powerful weapon against most pests. Do want to know why it works? It is because of the fatty acids in the soap. These fatty acids wear away at the insect’s shells \’\’and eventually kills them.
Bugs do not Like Garlic \’\’and Pepper
Bugs cannot st\’\’and the stench of garlic so you can use that to your advantage. Dice up some hot peppers \’\’and bulb of garlic then blend together with a cup of water. Strain the liquid into a spray bottle to use as a strong repellant to make those bugs go running.
You can use red, black or chili pepper \’\’and even to ginger or paprika. Whichever it is, it must contain capsaicin. If you want to do a double header put the liquid in a spray bottle with soap \’\’and spray away for best effectiveness.
Why Growing Hemp Organically is Best – Hold the Coffee \’\’and Beer
Coffee grounds which you throw away anyway, are an amazing repellant for more than just bugs. Other invaders like slugs, cats \’\’and deer will walk away from the coffee grounds.
Some snails \’\’and slugs like beer as much as humans to so spray a path with beer that leads out of the hemp plants to draw these pests to another location where they can feast to their hearts content.
Why Growing Hemp Organically is Best – Add More Plants
How does planting more plants drive the pests away? There are some specific plants that naturally ward off certain pests \’\’and insects. Did you know that catnip helps repel aphids while radishes chase those nasty beetles right out of your field? Then we do not want to forget about sunflowers because they distract away from hemp \’\’and to them.
Pest that are particularly sensitive to smell can be distracted that way. Yarrow, citronella, mint, fennel, lemongrass, lavender, \’\’and basil to name just a few of the more potent plants that deter common pests.
“Organic is Best” Last
Sometimes it’s the smallest things that cause the biggest problems but on the other h\’\’and just as small an item can wipe out your big problem. And some soap is much cheaper than toxic chemicals \’\’and probably will work better. Remember the power of the lady bugs as well.
Pests are a problem if you have a back yard hemp garden or a 50-acre farm but still you do not have to resort to toxic chemicals to keep the critters away. But you know what hemp does when there are contaminants in the ground – that’s right the hemp plant absorbs it. So, if you do not want to run the risk of a contaminated hemp plant, stay away from the chemicals \’\’and sprays that will, without a doubt, kill them.
